"The Prelude"

"The Prelude" is known to have been one of Wordsworth's most famous poems. He began writing in his late 20's and continued to work on it for all of his life. The poem was published three months after his death in 1850 by his wife Mary which gave it the title "Prelude." Known as an autobiography of himself and his love for the outdoors and nature, he referred to it as "the poem of the growth of my own mind."
